Parking
Artist parking will be available in the Meredith Corporation surface lot located at Walnut and 16th Street. This is west of the main entrance on Locust Street (and marked on the map). If you would like to Google the Festival site use the address 1408 Locust Street, Des Moines, IA. (it’s an old satellite image, but will give you an idea of the layout).
Booth Space
DMAF offers a 100 square-foot space with additional storage behind the assigned booth area. If you are an artist who was invited to show in two disciplines you may obtain a 20'x10' booth space. While we are not successful accommodating all requests, booth spaces have been assigned based on artist preference identified in the acceptance packet. Preference for corner booth spaces, if requested, are given to demonstrating artists. Booth numbers correspond to the booth’s location. For example, all booths located on Grand begin with “G.” Booths located on Locust begin with “L.” Booths located on 15th street begin with “15.” The number increase as travel east.
Fees & Taxes
All artists have paid a booth fee of $350. Those artists assigned a corner booth will pay an additional $100. If you submitted a request for a corner booth, DMAF will return your submitted check during the weekend of the show. Artists retain 100% of their sales. Each artist is responsible for the collection and reporting of all applicable taxes. A temporary Iowa Sales Tax Permit will be included in your Welcome Packet which you will receive upon check-in at the Festival.
Rentals
Aztec Rentals out of Houston, Texas, provides the festival’s tents. They are also available for your rental needs. They will deliver, set-up and tear down. If you would like to place an order, you may download the Tent Order Form here or contact Michelle Reyes at (713) 699-0088.

Electricity
Electricity is provided to each artist’s booth at no additional charge. You must bring your own lighting and outdoor-approved extension cords with a minimum length of 50 ft. If you use multiple outlets you will need to provide your own power strip. You must attach the power strip in a manner so it is not lying on the ground. The maximum wattage available to each artist booth is 500 watts.
Exhibitor Equipment
Artists are responsible for providing their own booth, equipment and insurance.
Security
The Des Moines Police Department and a private security company will provide 24-hour security, insuring the highest possible security of the Festival site at all times.

Artist Rules
The Des Moines Arts Festival has earned its reputation for enforcing the rules. Festival officials will visit all displays at intervals throughout the Festival to ensure that exhibitors comply with all Festival rules. It is our exclusive right and responsibility to remove work that is not in compliance. Repeated noncompliance will result in expulsion and ineligibility for judging, awards and participation in future Festivals.
1. All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist.
2. Artists may only exhibit work in the category in which they are accepted.
3. Only original artwork may be displayed and/or offered for sale.
4. Ceramic works must be handmade by the artist. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each piece must be signed.
5. Prints may only be exhibited by exhibitors accepted in the graphics/printmaking category. Prints must be produced in signed, limited editions, which are hand-pulled by the artist.
6. No reproductions are allowed. If a work exists as a painting, watercolor, drawing, etc. and is copied by digital or photographic means and printed on an offset press, a serigraph press or through a computer by means of an ink jet or electrostatic printer, this would be a reproduction. This includes giclees.
7. Artist(s) must be present to exhibit. No spouses or other representatives will be permitted in place of artist.
8. A picture ID is required at artist check-in.
9. Exhibitors may not sell promotional items such as postcards, notecards, calendars, t-shirts or photocopy and/or offset reproductions of any kind. The sale of non-original promotional items is prohibited.
