John Paul Schafer, an Iowa native born 1970, lives and works in Cedar Rapids. He's a mid-career painter with 28 years experience in a cross section of visual media. Schafer is an independent, full-time painter who specializes in making kinetic, abstract paintings in a full palette. He travels the midwest marketing his paintings at art festivals and juried exhibitions. Schafer is available for commissioned works, and he enjoys the challenges of creating site-specific art for public spaces like libraries, hospital lobbies and civic centers. Schafer has numerous public works to his credit in NE Iowa.
