Artist bio: Award winning artist Amy Koch has been creating happy pieces since 1996. She participates in juried art shows all over the country. These delightful mixed media shadow boxes show how simple materials such as recycled papers, fabric, and clay, can be transformed into magical 3-D pieces of art. Passionate about creating smiles, Amy invites her audience to step into a scene and be inspired. Amy draws her inspiration from childhood memories of building forts, sailing, exploring the outdoors, dreaming about the moon and starry night sky, and adoring books, especially those that would pop-up. These clever pieces are undeniably original, you’ll fall in love with every happy piece.

Artist Statement: Storybook boxes made from upcycled papers, fabric, clay, and a variety of found items. Inspired by childhood memories with a whimsical twist. Reminding us all of what it was like to be a kid, fantastic imagination and limitless dreams. The materials are simple, but the execution is grand.
