Artist bio: Chuck Brenton spent his childhood in rural Iowa exploring the woodlands and landscapes around the family farm. His parents recognized his artistic talent early on and enrolled him at age six at the Des Moines Art Center, where he was first influenced by modernist sculptors and color field painters.

Moving to Colorado, he went on to receive a BFA from Colorado State University in 2012, then worked for the fine art foundry Bronze Services of Loveland from 2014 to 2019, refining forms and finishing techniques. Subsequently, he developed a proprietary color system for polished metal, culminating in his signature style.

Chuck’s first solo exhibit, REWILD, opened at Artworks Center for Contemporary Art in Loveland, Colorado in 2021. His work is influenced by his observation of the habitats, movements, and patterns of wildlife.

Artist Statement: Handbuilt geometric forms based on landscapes & birds are cast in bronze, polished, & polychromed by the artist. A proprietary blend of vibrant oil-based enamel is set subsurface of polyurethane & nano-quartz clear coats. These limited edition works are a contemporary hybrid of painting & sculpture.
