Jennifer Lashbrook is a Dallas-based artist who has been working professionally since 2004. She was born in a small town in Illinois, but moved to Dallas a few years later, where she has resided ever since. At the age of ten, her parents enrolled her in an oil painting class while she was visiting family during the summertime. Having fallen in love with oil painting, she continued to work creating landscapes in this ''Bob Ross'' painting style for the next few years. With her love of painting established at an early age, she made art her focus through out high school and went on to develop her talents by attaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Drawing and Painting, from the University of North Texas. She studied drawing, painting, figure painting, hybrid forms, jewelry and metal smithing while working under the guidance of well known artists such as; Vernon Fisher, Ed Blackburn, Robert Jessup, Vincent Falsetta, Susan Cheal, Tim Hunt and Harlan Butts. A selection of her favorite artists include, Chuck Close, Salvador Dali, Robert Rauschenberg, Lucian Freud, Carravaggio, Francis Bacon, Marcel Duchamp, and Joseph Beuys.

Jennifer has participated in group shows at the Turley Gallery, Cora Stafford Gallery, Mary Tomas Gallery and currently shows at Ginger Fox Gallery in Dallas, Transistor in Chicago, and has a solo show at Los Gatos’ JCOS Place gallery in February 2017. Jennifer’s artwork is included within major collections including the Hilton hotel chain, KISS FM radio, HostBridge, Larson consulting, and she is a featured artist in FORBES magazine’s 60 Artists’ Pricing and Studio feature (2015). Her work will also be showcased on the number one network television show ‘Empire’ (Season 3 & 4) with an audience of 22 million viewers. Participating in numerous prestigious art festivals nation-wide, Jennifer has been awarded 2016 Best of Show (King William Art Fair San Antonio), 2015 Best in Show Mixed Media (Well’s Street Art Festival), 2014 People’s Choice Award (Utah Arts Festival), Best Emerging Artist 2013 (Fort Worth Main Street Arts Festival), 2013 Poster Artist/2014 Award of Excellence (Arts Festival Oklahoma), 2014 2D 1st Place (Stillwater Arts Festival), and 2014 Spotlight artist (Lamar Street Festival).

Jennifer Lashbrook has become known for her ''Swatch Paintings''. This unique method of collage involves individually cut pieces of paint swatch paper arranged to create a stunning pixelated work of art. From a distance, the colors blend to create a photo realistic quality, with the individual ‘pixels’ becoming more distinguishable the closer one views the art. Jennifer is a modern impressionist, and her swatch paintings are the brushstrokes of the digital age. Her work shows a comical reference to the commercial, the digital and the reproducible. Toying at the idea that anyone can re-create their own master work... Her adult version of a puzzle.
