Mary Sly

Location(s):
Medium: Fiber - Wearable

Booth #: LS24

Artist bio: I treat the silk as a canvas, using a brush and acid dyes. The resist technique is free hand. My textiles have multiple layers of hand painted silk, which gives them depths. I am intrigued by the impact color has as its worn on moon and perception. I like the intrigue of hidden depths in my garments by making them reversible or with layers of transparent silk. Each piece is an original painting for the owner to wear and bring art into their daily world. All the fabric drawing, painting, cutting, and construction, is done by the artist hand.
