Jamie & Brenna Bormann

Earth Art Medium: Soy Wax / Beeswax / Concrete
Artist Statement: We make decorative candles using soy wax and beeswax. The core of our candles are made of soy wax, and then are accented with plants made of beeswax in a variety of colors and scents. The vast majority of our candles are made in concrete vessels, that are hand poured in our workshop. Together they make a decorative candle and display piece that is simultaneous soft and hard—combining the delicacy of the wax with the strength of the concrete.

Marion Nehmer

Earth Art Medium: Ceramic
Artist Statement: My work is primarily made of porcelain clay with bright surface colors using underglazes. I carve through the underglazes creating patterns that follow and highlight the form of the piece. I feel the essence of each piece starts with it's shape, one that is sculptural as well as balanced. Some pieces are thrown on the wheel while others are thrown, altered and hand built, then fired to midrange temperature.
