David Gilbertsen & Joy Wallace

Artist Bio: Using simplicity and balance, these Zen-like, three dimensional, mixed media pieces feature smooth lake stones and up-cycled, broken and tumbled glass. Natural, tactile elements are tucked into niches and channels that have been sandblasted into deep, artist constructed panels. David and Joy have combined a lifetime of art backgrounds in ceramics, painting, and printmaking, each with separate tools and talents that have led them to this recent collaboration. They work together on these one-of-a-kind, contemporary organic pieces in their rural studio, surrounded by wetlands and lakes and all things beautiful in Wisconsin.
