Artist Bio: "With formal training in graphic design and Japanese ikebana floral design, Gregg Graff, and Jacki Pouyat Graff have been working with nature and sharing their work at fine art shows nationwide for over 30 years now. As the recipient of the 2008 Best of Show award at the Des Moines Arts Festival we are pleased to be back.
Our work is inspired by the never-ending forms of nature. The medium is an organic resin consisting primarily of beeswax. The colors are derived from natural materials such as lichens, earth minerals and oil pigments.
In much of their work actual specimens of nature collected from around the world by the artists are embedded into the resin, then fused by heat onto hand finished aluminum panels."
