"Mezamé (reawaken) by Lauren
Lauren uses sustainably sourced yarns in a zero waste creative process to explore negative and positive space, landscape and color theory in a meditative and freeform weaving process. Every part of the handwoven cloth is sewn into a one-of-a-kind wearable goods. The process brings a large variety of styles, sizes and price points to the collection. Favorite items include shawls, kaftans, mending kits, remnant keychains and bandana cowls.
Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Clothing Design from the University of Minnesota and then taught sustainable design, apparel construction, fiber craft and related emotional connection for 10 years at Universities and non-profit organizations. She created Mezamé by Lauren in 2013 inspired by the philosophies she taught and gradually switched to run her artisan business full time. She has been honored to win art show awards, see her work featured on Etsy's television commercials, and sell her work globally online, at art shows, countless shops and galleries throughout the United States.
