Mary Jane Piccuirro

Artist Bio: I'm a self-taught artist doing art shows for the last 50 years. I worked in many different mediums. But at the age of 50 found my passion. I took a week class in mask making and movement. I always love masks and I study dance for 15 years and thought I would try it. At the end of the week we performed with your masks and I was hooked. My masks are made from recyclable paper. Many are of endangered Species. I also make pieces from white birch bark and other found objects from the forest floor. I have won many awards but the one I'm must proud of is the Sustainable award from the Smithsonian. I hope my work makes you thing about climate change and the effects it has on all living creatures.
