Artist Bio
Dante Germain is known for his clean, organic aesthetic, creating sculptural glass objects that blur the line between art and function. Much of his work is inspired by water quality and our relationship to natural water sources. Glass became a natural medium for exploring these ideas, allowing him to capture a moment in time much like a sculptural photograph.
His recent work focuses on vessels formed from rocks collected from local and iconic bodies of water. By blowing molten glass against the stones at nearly 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, Germain allows nature to shape each piece. The resulting forms highlight the organic textures of the rocks and invite people to reflect on their connection to water and place.
