Genevieve Lavalle is a fine art fiber artist, specializing in narrative based punch needle rugs for the wall. Using yarn, fabric and an oxford punch needle, Genevieve hand punches each loop of yarn to tell a story through this antiquated craft. Lavalle often describes her practice as “painting with yarn” which draws from her painting and drawing background and her experience in large scale public art murals. Genevieve’s rugs are colorful, humorous “still life’s” that combine an old craft with a modern perspective.
