Artist Bio

Kristin Gereau is the founder and creative force behind K. Gereau Textiles, a brand that transforms knitting into bold, sculptural wearable art. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Textiles, she brings a deep understanding of material, color, and form to her work. Each piece begins as black and white yarn, hand dyed to create rich, layered color with a painterly effect. She works with premium, eco-conscious fibers such as cashmere, merino wool, silk, and cotton, chosen for their softness, quality, and sustainability.

Using hand-manipulated techniques on a knitting machine, Kristin shapes each piece to create dimensional texture and movement. The finished work is often felted, producing a dynamic interplay of structure and drape. Inspired by bold color and tactile surfaces, her scarves are designed to feel alive when worn—original compositions that blur the line between fashion and art. Through K. Gereau Textiles, she invites wearers to express their individuality and carry a piece of handmade art with them every day.
