As a wife, mother and self-taught artist, my ultimate goal is to create "Art That Makes You Smile". Utilizing acrylic paint as my medium and a monochromatic scheme I seek to reflect in my paintings the joy that can come from animals, and unusual uses of color. I focus on balancing between realistic detail and a whimsical feel, with each piece brought to life with an individual name and painted with a unique personality. My white backgrounds are intended to draw your eye solely to the subject, and all the detail I pour into it. I want my pieces to make a statement while simultaneously feeling clean and simple. Within my current body of work, I am continuing to develop techniques that focus on utilizing impasto, or texture, to bring a more three-dimensional look, making them even more life-like.
