I am a multi-disciplinary artist, which means I like to do a bit of everything, including painting, printmaking, film, theater, and fiber arts. I enjoy letting the creative process dictate the medium and experimenting with new materials. Working in watercolor for this body of work, I found inspiration in Iowa’s landscapes and rivers. The movement of water becomes both subject and method as I balance intention with spontaneity — combining layers of controlled washes with the dynamics of paint guided by water, gravity, and chance. Each piece is created on prepared panel or mounted paper and sealed with wax or varnish, resulting in a durable, frameless finish that can be displayed without glass.

After many years, I returned to my art practice with renewed creativity and intention. This transition marks not just a career shift, but a reclamation of time and identity. Working from a place of experience, I approach my practice with a deeper sensitivity to change, balance, and uncertainty—themes that continue to shape both my process and the work itself.
