Rosa Murillo is an artist and former architect based in North Carolina. Her work begins as layered resin paintings, built through a process of pouring, painting, and preserving imagery between translucent layers. Once complete, she selects and cuts sections of these original artworks, transforming them into one-of-a-kind wearable pieces. By combining painting, sculpture, and jewelry, Murillo creates miniature works of art that invite people to carry beauty and imagination with them every day. Her work has been exhibited at art festivals across the country as well as institutions including the Smithsonian and the Renwick Gallery in Washington, D.C.
