Artist Bio
Born to a Cuban father and German mother and raised in the American Midwest, I earned my BFA from Ball State University with a focus on drawing and printmaking. After moving to San Francisco in 1988, I found a landscape and creative community that deeply expanded my practice. Becoming a mother in 2001 gave me the courage to commit fully to life as an artist.
For more than three decades, I have exhibited throughout the Bay Area and nationwide. I developed a process that layers mono print backgrounds with pastel drawing, building depth through color, texture, and gesture. Nature is central to my work — shifting light, coastal air, and patterns of growth inform each piece.
The layered surfaces reflect how I experience the world: visible and invisible, structured and fluid. Through color and atmosphere, I seek to create a space of connection — to place, memory, ancestry, and belonging.
