Artist Bio
I learned to turn wood years ago when I was making furniture and other woodworking projects after I got out of college. Usually at that time I turned to build some legs or spindles for a project I was working on, using kiln dried wood, nothing similar to what I do now. Then life happened and the lathe mostly sat and I probably didn't turn for 25 years.
I stumbled across a video of someone turning green wood, that's wood that is still wet, not kiln dried like I had turned in the past. I thought that looked interesting, so I dug out the lathe and tried it, I was hooked. That was late 2017. Shortly after that I tried a local small art show and made $1100 in 3 days. I started doing more shows part time, I was fortunate, I had a full time job that allowed some flexibility in terms or taking time off. I left that job In 2022.
That's how my journey as a full time artist began.
