With the full moon at our backs and flashlights in tow, my partner and I prowl the night to hunt for lost gems and liminal spaces. From Gary, Indiana to the Dakota Badlands, we sneak inside American history—houses, vehicles, structures abandoned by progress. Using color flashes and long exposure photography, we turn the lights on one last time. The end result is more of an art performance than a photograph. We brave frozen toes and wild beasts on our adventure under the stars to capture our country’s past before it disappears for good.
