I have been making art for as long as I can remember. It's hard not to growing up with a dad who was an art professor, a mom who studied art before moving into interior design, and a grandmother who was a retired elementary school art teacher who always had us cutting, gluing and collecting - piecing together found materials on paper, bottles or whatever was on hand. I am still drawn to mixed materials. Images clipped from magazines and catalogs often serve as my starting point. I love the contrast between the photographic imagery and layers of acrylic paint, charcoal and the figures that emerge to inhabit the evolving story.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin and earned my BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I currently reside in Madison, Wisconsin.
