Artist Bio

Like many artists, Linda completed a bachelors degree in art but also in teaching. For the next 34 years she worked as an educator, including as a teacher, consultant, staff developer, curriculum developer and administer for the Des Moines Schools until she took a workshop given by a narrative sculptor in Santa Fe, New Mexico that reignited her passion for creating objects. Linda now works full time as an artist creating figurative sculptures from clay. Over the last 15 years her work has been exhibited nationally at recognized juried art festivals, galleries, museums, art centers, juried exhibitions, public collections, SOFA Chicago and several Midwest Universities including Iowa State University. She has received several awards including best of show, first place in sculpture, best of 3D as well as recognition in national print media. Recently she has begun painting again and displays them along with her clay sculptures at select juried festivals and exhibitions.

Linda can be found working at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines, Iowa in studio 435. Her life has been enriched by her husband/partner and four grown children and grandchildren that have supplied her with rich experiences, support and endless creative material.
