Working with oil paint on canvas, I paint people and memories. I refer to the images I paint as moments-in-between which are those mundane moments that seem to take on significance and prompt a lot of feelings and stories when they are remembered. References for my paintings come from vernacular photographs from my own family, estate sales and junk shops. I love the idea of forgotten, thrown away moments becoming oil paintings that live on and continue telling stories.
