Micah Ferin is a queer Iowa-based multidisciplinary artist from Des Moines. His work explores intense colorwork, juxtaposition of images, composition, and elements of collage and layering. His concepts surround and challenge ideas of gender, humor, emotions, Iowa, fluctuating states of being, and psychological experiences. Micah has won two Best-in-Show awards; at the Des Moines Arts Festival as an Emerging Iowa Artist for 2024, and at the Anderson Gallery at Drake University in 2023 for his work. Micah currently create art at Mainframe Studios, and teaches for the Des Moines Art Center, Hoyt Sherman Place, and DMPS After School Arts program. Micah loves to hang out with his dogs and chickens and go to local concerts with friends.
