Artist Bio

Mike Heule, a Minneapolis native, grew up immersed in creativity, heavily influenced by his father, a stained glass and commercial artist whose work appeared in publications and adorned churches across the Midwest. After serving in the U.S. Army’s Berlin Brigade, Mike pursued architecture at Kansas State University, launching a successful career that included co-founding Helix Architecture + Design and leading notable projects across a range of scales.

Following his retirement from architecture, Mike turned his creative focus to visual art. Now based in Kansas City’s West Bottoms district, he works from his studio, where he explores contemporary and abstract forms through a wide range of media. Drawing from decades of design expertise, his work blends precision with expressive freedom, offering a distinctive voice in today’s art scene.
