The inspiration for my work, across all series is very much rooted in the gorgeously nuanced grit of the environment that surrounds us. Saturated colors and earthy texture echo all there is to love about the patina of life. As an artist, I am constantly drawn to nature’s relentless efforts to reclaim man made surfaces and the beauty found within that which is crumbling, rusting and decaying. I celebrate that push and pull on the canvas through layers of color, unexpected mark making and shadowy glimpses of the surface that lies beneath.
