Artist Bio

David Zahn lives and works in Moline, Illinois. Originally, from the Chicago area, he has been creating his entire life. He makes imaginative bronze and ceramic sculptures.
David studied figure sculpting and bronze casting at the Art Institute of Chicago. His figure-based artworks are interesting, powerful, and contain some mystery. He made 2 portrait busts for the state capital in Springfield Illinois in 2023, and installed a major outdoor sculpture commissioned by the Muscatine Art Center in Iowa in 2022. In 2012, Deere and Company commissioned him to create a large bronze work to commemorate the company’s 175th anniversary. He has many sculptures on display in public buildings, schools, parks, libraries, and other spaces.
