Wood

Forests and wood have been central in my life; I grew up playing in the hardwood forests of New England, I began making wooden things at a young age, I've spent a career studying forest ecology, and I return to forests for nourishment, inspiration, and recreation. I make artisan and pure art forms, using wood from North America, Africa, Australia, and South America. I am currently working on a series exploring the influence of fire on wood, and a series that celebrates pot forms of southwestern native cultures, but I always return to serene, quiet pieces, which are the core of my artistic work. I have been working creatively with wood for 30 years, exhibiting in galleries and fairs since 2012, alternatively as a full-time and part-time artist.
