Alex Schaeffer was born and raised in Des Moines and is a graduate of Roosevelt High School. His acting career started at the Des Moines Playhouse. Later, he moved to NYC to pursue dreams of being an actor. There he found success working on two acting contracts for Disney Cruise Line, and also a few small background roles for television. He eventually moved to Chicago with his wife Ashley to study improv and film acting. They have been living back in Iowa since 2019. Just recently he got back to the stage as Dr. Pomatter in “Waitress: the Musical” and won a Cloris Award for the performance. He loves writing plays, and also reading them. Any free time he has, he loves to spend with his wife Ashley and daughter Lilah.
