The focus of the demonstration will be the creation of an ongoing traditional beaded crown for a Southern Cloth powwow dancer, allowing festival goers to engage in an interactive experience. The artist will narrate their personal journey, explaining the significance of each design and emphasizing the sacredness of Native American art. 

The artist plans to showcase the process of stretching and priming a canvas, followed by an under painting demonstration with oil paint. They will have two canvases available, with one already stretched and primed to save time during the demonstration. 

The artist will be showcasing their unique and unconventional mark-making techniques, which involve the use of brayers and unusual imprinting methods. Observers are encouraged to participate and try the technique themselves, as the artist is at an early stage of completion. The main goal of the demonstration is to provide an opportunity for attendees to expand their thinking and approach to painting. 

Ella Richards, the acclaimed poster artist from last year, will be presenting a revised version of her well-received artwork. With a few modifications, she will incorporate additional elements by cutting out and attaching new figures. In addition to discussing technique, Ella intends to share her emotional connection to Des Moines and the underlying message she aimed to convey through her art.
